Evolution of a Painting

  •  I picked this up outside the building - one of the neighbors probably got fed up with it, which I can understand, but I took it home anyway - not because of its artistic value but because I could use the surface - it's always nice to create something nice out of something unwanted or ugly or both. Nice idea too that the frame is already there and I only have to put it back after I've finished whatever it is going to be like. So I sanded and primed it and basically I could start painting right away, but still got something unfinished that needs to be finished on the easel. Working space is very limited, so I've been using acrylic for some time, which is not as messy as oil - artistically I'd prefer oil, but I haven't done that for ages - I'll start painting in oil again as soon as I have some proper space to work in, but for the time being acryllic will do.                                                                                                                                                                     It may be a nice idea to capture it's evolution  from stage to stage -  from it's somewhat sad origin and it's present state to the finished painting ...

Update November 11, 2021 -  I keep feeling reluctant to get on with

it - I seem to be more in the mood to paint on little surfaces - I've                               been doing that a lot this year. I don't know why it evolves so slowly;                      there have been times when I could finish three or four pictures                                this  size in a week (and it's not even THAT big a thing).  It's a bit                                   embarrassing...
